When did you start working at LLCS?: “3 years ago as of January 21st!”
How long have you been working with children? Tell us about your background: “Both of my parents were educators. My dad was a high school principal, and my mom taught first grade until they started their family, so I guess it is part of my “gene pool!” I love helping to mold our leaders of tomorrow.”
Education: “Ashford University, Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education.”
Tell us about your family: “My husband Mark and I have five beautiful children and three grandchildren, with two on the way! They are scattered throughout the country. We value our family time, and despite the distance, we are blessed to spend time with them several times a year.”
Hobbies: “Spoiling my grandchildren, spending time with my family, cooking, traveling and decorating.”
Favorite Candy: “Anything white chocolate or Twizzlers Pull and Peel.”
Favorite Movie: “Grand Turino.”
Favorite Music: “Christian, Country, Alternative Rock
Tell us something that most people don’t know about you: “Before starting a family, I was a flight attendant. After my first flight at age 5, I told my parents that when I grew up that’s what I wanted to be! Dreams do come true if you believe! I traveled the world and loved every minute of it.”
Why do you love to work with young children?: “I love their innocence. I love that their brains are like sponges, they take it all in. I love to teach them while having fun with various activities. My hope is that they will continue their schooling with a positive attitude based on their experience with me. I love to see their personal and spiritual growth throughout the year. They keep me laughing and smiling all day. What a gift.”
What do you enjoy most about working at The Little Lamb Christian School: “I have never worked for anyone as great as Sherry and Sue. They support their staff, parents and the children. They run the Lamb like ‘clock work.’ I have never experienced that in my past schools. Our staff is exceptional. We support and care for each other. We have teamwork. When you work in a place like The Lamb, you are glad to wake up in the morning and come to work. (And truthfully, I love it here so much that I don’t consider it a job, I consider it a blessing).”
Favorite Bible verse: “Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” Colossians 3:12
