Susan Marshall, Pre-Kindergarten 1 Teacher
When did you start working at The Little Lamb Christian School?: “I first worked at Little Lamb between Sep. 2017 – 2018, I was excited to return in Dec. of 2020, so off and on now for four years!”
How long have you been working with children? Tell us about your background: “I’ve been working with children since I was 10 years old as a babysitter, and in high school I worked as a nanny and in multiple roles in my church’s child care ministry.”
Education: “I was homeschooled and graduated in 2013, I went on to get my Associates in Theatrical Production, where I directed and choreographed multiple elementary musical productions. I have also received training in special education and have enjoyed my time working as an assistant and learning under previous Pre-K teachers.”
Tell us about your family: “I am a Mama’s girl and I am number 4 of 5 siblings. Miss Kathleen in the infant room is my younger sister. We have 3 older brothers, who are all married and have given us bunches of nieces and nephews. I currently live with my two best friends, Miss Emily and Miss Sarah, in a condo and we are in a year long discussion on whether or not to get a cat.”
Hobbies: “I have always loved any version of art: painting, pottery, makeup, and drawing doodles. I frequently design hair and makeup for local theatre productions. I am a lover of board and card games and have recently discovered DnD. I am also an avid collector of all things Disney.”
Favorite Candy: “Jolly Ranchers, 3 Musketeers, Albanese Gummy Bears”
Favorite Movies: “Sound of Music, Ever After, Thor: Ragnorok, Singing in the Rain, and Tangled”
Favorite Music: “Broadway Musicals, Taylor Swift, Jonas Brothers, Frank Sinatra, and Patty Gurdy”
Tell us something that most people don’t know about you: “One of my makeup looks has been published in an online magazine”
Why do you love to work with young children?: “I can still remember all the wonderful teachers and people who showed me love when I was little. Taught me how to paint and draw and how to braid hair and I want to be that type of teacher to all of the kids I work with. I want to show God’s love and how wonderful it is to learn new things. I love the excitement in the small things and how each day is never quite the same.”
What do you enjoy most about working at The Little Lamb Christian School?: “I love being able to work in a Christian environment. Being able to pray with the kids and remind them of God’s love and all that He has done for them and me. I love working with coworkers and under management that are like minded and have a spirit of working as the body of Christ and lifting each other up.”
Favorite Bible Verse: Psalm 18: 1-3 “ I love you, Lord, my strength. The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.”
